Pirate Infrastructures

The project maps the software piracy supply ecosystem - from understanding the institutions that support the warez scene where software is initially cracked to parsing the motivations of vendors who sell these software to consumers. It also studies how these pirate infrastructures play an important role in allowing underserved communities gain access to goods and services, through creating alternate informal systems of distribution.
